tuesday, october 29 (02) [link]chrisw: In local news...San Francisco supervisors
passed an ordinance Monday that would allow 18-year-olds into some after-hours clubs once alcohol is no longer served.
Now, if only BART ran past 2am...
wednesday, october 23 (02) [link]jane: greetings from the floating kingdom! i'm glad to see that you are all doing well.

i am living a quiet wireless existence in the suburbs of Tokyo. it's great, and all, but there are things i miss about California. here is a partial list:
1. being able to watch the new season of Buffy. we tried downloading it, it looked crappy. "that's not the medium it was meant to be seen," i said, and refused to watch. i mean, it wouldn't be fair to Joss.
2. mexican food. really good, spicy, rich, pork-fatty mexican food. what i wouldn't give for a tamale smothered with mole or a beef taco from an East Oakland taco truck.
3. my books.
4. DSL.
5. m CDs.
6. the weather. it's getting cold here and rainy.
7. band practice. just kidding.
8. actually i totally was not kidding. dealership has been practicing more or less three times a week for six years. it's a relationship! i feel lost!
9. all of you, my friends, my family.
wednesday, october 16 (02) [link]chrisg: For those who haven't heard, November is
National Novel Writing Month. A friend and former roommate of mine started this project a few years back where everyone decides to write a 50,000-word novel within the space of November. I did it last year and it caused me unfathomable amounts of stress and grief. So of course I am signing up again this year. You all should too. Dealership fanfic highly encouraged.
tuesday, october 15 (02) [link]chrisg: what is this? a post to the weblog?
hi all. sorry that this little space on our website has been so inactive. jane was being really good about updating it, but those pesky keyboards in asia are presenting an insurmountable obstacle.
but to fill you in on things:
we have finished mixing the album! now on to mastering and figuring out cover art, and the thing will be ready to press.
the ready-to-wear collections for spring/summer 03 have been keeping me busy. between reading
cathy horyn's show reviews in the times, and clicking through slideshow after slideshow on
style.com, i haven't had much time to do anthing else. i'm also (at the insistence of chris w and jane) supposed to be putting together my own website. that is still in the works.
i hate to admit it, but i think that gilmore girls is replacing buffy as my favorite tuesday night program. i was initially very opposed to watching something with a title like 'gilmore girls'. it just sounds really really dumb. but truth be told, the show is quite entertaining. i feel that buffy, on the other hand, is continuing its downhill spiral that it began last season. aside from willow getting all
black-eyed, it's been bo-ring. no, i take that back - my boredom was occasionally filled with moments of disgust as spike and buffy got it on in ways that i thought were forbidden on network television.
this season's highlight is that both buffy and dawn are out of their whiny phases. they were kind of the yin and yang of whine - dawn's whine was an external, very overt cry for attention; buffy's whine was an internal, "can't you all tell from the dour look on my face that i'm so very unhappy", passive-aggressive whine. well, like i said, at least willow got all evil and cool.
but of course i will continue to watch the show through the season (while taping gilmore girls), because at this point it's basically habit. i'm just hoping that ms gellar-prinze doesn't renew for another season, which will make it a lot easier for me to pull the plug.
that's what i can think of for now. now i need to go start thinking about my halloween costume.
xo
