saturday, february 16 (02) [link]chrisw: (Updated post with three or four pictures from the show inside) So...very...rainy - looks like it's time to put Elliot Smith's "
Needle in the Hay" on a loop.
Speaking of rain,
that's OK, distraction. We understand. Stay warm, kiddo.
Update: Hey, distraction, people went a little sticker crazy, didn't they? :) Which is great.
On a related note from above - I love
the Tenenbaums. They are a terrible family. Just like every family.
Update: The show. Was fun. But I'm an idiot. It was 18+.
Deathray and Dealership were each unique and beautiful snowflakes tonight...but Spunky Brewster (pictured below) had the right idea. When a bunch of stressed college students need a break, a drink, and a good time -- give it to them. With sweatbands of triumph. Just slam on the stompbox marked "80s" and rip through The Cars, Devo, The Cure, Dead or Alive, Modern English, The Bangles and all of the sounds that bump and slish and pow to your inner Top 40 Child.
For a while people slammed and slid against each other and felt generally glowing-and-exhausted. It was a gift.
"Now whip it. Into shape!" |
monday, february 11 (02) [link]chrisw: New all-ages Berkeley show added! To offset the sold-out-edness of our upcoming show with GBV.
It's at Cloyne. The Valentine's Day thingy. Just like last year. And just how did dina
a.k.a Deathstar
find out sooooo quickly? We're amazed.
monday, february 4 (02) [link]chrisw: Tickets for our Noisepop show with Guided By Voices are no longer available through Tickets.com...I wonder if you can still get them at the Bimbo's door, or maybe through BASS on the phone? Dunno.
I'll try later today and see...
Update: Nope. Totally sold out. Damn, that was fast. Our apologies.
