chrisg:  Thanks to all who came to the Bottom of the Hill this evening. It was a total blast. The other bands that played tonight (rubymar, mike kinsella and rainer maria) were all excellent and really nice and fun, and I'm still humming their songs as i sit here writing. Deepest of apologies to anyone who couldn't get in after it sold out or got there after we played. As usual, things never go quite as smoothly as they could on this front. I especially hope that my friend julie is the only one who had to fork over a round-trip cab fare just to be barred admission. julie, if you're reading - I owe you dinner.

chrisw:  should you get tix for us and rainer maria show before showing up? my guess is "yes". it's always a guess, though. i never can tell which shows will be popular or not; but I thought I'd make the suggestion since I don't want anyone to get caught outside as has happened the last couple of times...

jane:  check out the WB20 show, Pop Stars. it is frightening and really entertaining at the same time, just like Making the Band was. it makes you so glad to be indie...

chrisg:  is anyone watching the new reality tv shows this season? i can never seem to catch them when they're on. either we're rehearsing, or i'm working, or i'm out. my only sense of them comes from reading the synopses written by the very funny writers at salon. but the humor of these synopses seems largely due to the fact that the shows are mostly terrible, with boring hosts and desperate attempts by editors to make reality worth watching. but like i said, i never get the chance to actually watch them, so i could be totally wrong.

jane:  Busted! by the cops!

hey dealertroopers,
those of you who were at Cloyne about an hour ago know what happened... after delays of about two hours total, we finally took the stage only to be told that we could play one song... and for this we lugged the PA system all this way? it was a disappointment, to be sure, but seeing happy bouncing smiling familar faces made it ok... well, sort of. we came to a decision: we won't put our fans in that kind of situation again. promise. it's just rude, and we don't want to do that to you. so, next time, we'll be more careful and do whatever it takes to ensure that we take the stage relatively on time.

highlights of the show: noah, the kid with the black eye showed up again and received his hug from me. i am happy to report his black eye is completely healed.

chris also came up from stanford to see us, and it was fun to talk to him about his diverse interests. wisely, he has chosen history as a major - although i guess he has enough time to make a film on the side!

lindsey, james, charlene, and jasin gave us valentines. we *heart* you too. and if you don't mind, we'd like to scan those valentines in and post them... because we are obsessive recorders of sweet gestures. you are the best.

thank you thank you thank you and hope to see all of you next Sunday at the Bottom of the Hill! we promise to play more than three songs!
